Swim Rafts and Birds

Looking for ideas on how to keep the birds off a swim raft. Just spent an hour cleaning of the swimming raft, after it was very covered with bird poop.

Here is the raft BEFORE – gross.

After cleaning…looked much better, but there must be a better way.

Some sort of scarecrow perhaps? Mirror?

There are outlines of diving hawks you can get to put on your windows so birds stay away – I’m not sure if it would work for this but they’re about a buck each so it can’t hurt.

Leave it upside down when yur not using it, would take a pretty clever bird to poop on the flat side then!

We have the same problem. We nailed down fake snakes, so far they are keeping the Blue Heron off. It didn’t scare away the Sea Gull, so we tried a flattened pie tin. That didn’t work! I noticed that one of our neighbors has a green neon silhouette attached to the side of his raft and his raft is bird poop free, but I don’t know where to purchase one.

put a pole on each conrner of raft string line across above heads and flaqgging tape.
